Practical Test: The Hunt 650 and Hunt 335 in the Field

In our practical test, both the ThermTec Hunt 650 and the Hunt 335 impressively demonstrated their capabilities in various hunting situations. The terrain offered a mix of environments, from dense forests to open fields, making it ideal for testing the thermal imaging attachments. The first noticeable difference between the models appeared quickly: The Hunt 650 proved unbeatable during stalking wild boar, especially in open fields. With its detection range of 2,600 meters, we could reliably spot game from long distances. The AI-supported distance measurement providing a reference value was particularly useful.

The Hunt 335, on the other hand, was used for stand hunting in the forest. Its compact design and quick start (only 3 seconds) made it perfect for use in denser underbrush, where game often appears unexpectedly. The image quality was clear and detailed enough to reliably spot a sounder of wild boar even under challenging conditions like dense foliage. Particularly convenient was the ring Bluetooth remote control, allowing us to operate the device silently without losing focus on the game.

Conclusion - The Situation Makes the Difference

Both thermal imaging attachments have proven to be absolutely reliable companions in practice, making it easy to maintain an overview and precisely address game even in darkness. However, the application area is crucial. While the Hunt 650 has a clear advantage during stalking, the 335 demonstrates its full performance in stand hunting.
