Driven Hunt Scope Delta Optical Titanium HD 1–6×24 - Test

Driven Hunt Scope Delta Optical Titanium HD 1-6x24 Field Test

Driven hunts demand everything from both the shooter and their equipment. Seconds matter, distances change constantly, and game often appears exactly when you least expect it. In moments like these, one thing counts above all else: an optic you can rely on without hesitation. It was precisely under these conditions that the Delta Optical Titanium HD 1-6x24 with 4A S reticle was put to use.

This compact driven hunt scope promises a lot, and on paper it sounds like a well-rounded solution for driven hunts. But how does the scope really perform in real hunting conditions – out in the field, with changing light, and under time pressure?

We tested the Delta Optical Titanium HD 1-6x24 during our most recent driven hunt under genuine conditions. In this article, we share our impressions from the hunting ground and show how the scope proved itself in practice.

You will also find recommendations for suitable ammunition and a warm hunting jacket.

The scope in practice

The Delta Optical Titanium HD 1-6x24 is marketed as a classic driven hunt scope: compact, lightweight, with true 1x magnification and a zoom range up to 6x. In addition, it offers an unusually large field of view, providing excellent situational awareness and safety. On the range, it quickly became clear that this combination is worth its weight in gold in real-world use.

With fast-moving game appearing suddenly in narrow shooting lanes and at short distances, the scope could be used almost like a red dot sight. Both eyes open, a wide field of view, and a clean, crisp illuminated dot in the image. This is where the scope really shines, especially during quick target acquisition on fleeing game.

Things became particularly interesting with more slowly moving animals. Due to fresh snow, game was moving cautiously. There was no classic high-tempo driven hunt, but rather calm movement at longer distances. Here, the 6x zoom range could really be put to use. A quick turn of the magnification ring made precise aiming at longer distances possible. For a scope in this price range, this is a strong argument in its favor.

The nitrogen-filled lenses delivered a clear image even in cold conditions. There was no fogging and no distracting reflections. The reticle in the second focal plane remained fine enough not to obscure the target, yet clearly visible. The adjustment turrets work cleanly and precisely, with 1 cm per click, and the robust protective caps ensure the scope is well protected against weather and accidental adjustment. Overall, the scope proved to be a solid driven hunt optic.

Our recommendations

The right ammunition is at least as important as the scope itself. For a winter driven hunt, appropriate clothing is equally essential.

Ammunition used: Norma Oryx .308 Norma Magnum

Norma Oryx .308 Norma Mag. 180gr

The Norma Oryx in .308 Norma Magnum with a 180 grain bullet is a proven choice for medium to heavy game. This driven hunt confirmed that reputation. All animals taken showed clean pass-throughs. Particularly positive was the amount of tracking sign the cartridge produced. This resulted in clear blood trails, obvious points of impact, and, most importantly, fewer follow-up searches.

The bonded construction of the Oryx bullet ensures that it does not fragment uncontrollably, even on bone impact. Instead, the bullet expands reliably and retains a high residual weight. In situations where shot placement is not always textbook-perfect, this provides a significant safety advantage. Penetration and moderate meat damage make this load an excellent match for driven hunts.

Performance remained convincing even at somewhat longer distances. The high muzzle velocity and stable trajectory make this loading very versatile.

Jacket recommendation for driven hunts: Deerhunter Ram Arctic

Deerhunter Ram Arctic jacket (Realtree Edge, Orange)

Five hours at minus three degrees Celsius is a real endurance test. The Deerhunter Ram Arctic jacket had to prove its worth here.

The conclusion is clear: the jacket kept ideally warm consistently. Despite little movement on stand, body heat was retained throughout. The insulating lining and waterproof membrane paid off. There was no chilling or drafts, and even during quieter phases it remained comfortably warm.

The ventilation zips under the arms are a real advantage during driven hunts. Especially when moving during drives or changing stands, they allow excess heat to escape quickly without having to open the jacket completely.

The Realtree Edge Orange pattern also ensures the necessary visibility during group hunts.

Conclusion - a driven hunt scope with strong value for money

This driven hunt was not an easy day. Fresh snowfall, cautiously moving game, and significantly less movement than usual. In the end, six wild boar and two roe deer were taken. Under normal conditions, around 18 animals would have been realistic in this hunting area. The external conditions clearly had an impact.

Especially on days like this, it becomes clear how important the right scope really is. When opportunities are limited, everything has to work perfectly in the decisive moment. The Delta Optical Titanium HD 1-6x24 delivered exactly that. Fast target acquisition at short distances, precise aiming on game moving farther out, and a clear image even in challenging light conditions. For a scope in a moderately priced class, this is an impressive overall performance.
