LEE Die Sets
LEE die sets allow precise processing of your brass and bullets during the reloading process. Many sets include the proven Factory Crimp Die, which smooths and crimps the finished cartridge after bullet seating. This increases bullet pull and eliminates unwanted case bulges at the bullet base.
For bottleneck calibers, crimping is performed using an adjustable crimp collet at the case neck. Straight-walled handgun cartridges are treated with a two-step process: a carbide ring smooths the case, and a variable insert reshapes the case mouth. Depending on the caliber, this produces either a taper crimp (pistols) or a roll crimp (revolvers). This results in more stable bullet seating, directly improving shooting consistency.
