The ThermTec Cyclops 635L 3.0 handheld thermal imager has been further developed in terms of image quality, operation and features. The highly sensitive 640x512 thermal imaging sensor achieves a NETD value of <15 mK. Together with the latest AI image processing, the monocular delivers a high-contrast thermal image with fine details.
New features include Thermal Super Resolution, ThermTec AI Calibration, the large 0.5-inch AMOLED display and the directly integrated laser rangefinder. The fingertip wheel focusing system characteristic of the Cyclops series has been retained, allowing comfortable one-handed operation.
LRF up to 1,000 m - Integrated Directly into the Lens
The laser rangefinder (LRF) is integrated directly into the lens of the thermal imager and measures distances of up to 1,000 m with an accuracy of ±1 m. Combined with AI rangefinding, LRF Boost technology now allows the distance to multiple targets to be measured more accurately than with AI rangefinding alone.
This is particularly useful for field hunting, where distances can be difficult to judge in the dark. The distance to the observed game can be measured directly with the Cyclops.
AI Zoom Pro Function
Thermal Super Resolution is used when digitally zooming in. The image processing helps maintain a high level of detail, allowing structures to remain more clearly visible even at higher zoom levels.
ThermTec AI Calibration also reduces the frequency of required calibrations. This results in fewer brief image interruptions caused by the shutter and helps keep the thermal image as stable as possible when environmental conditions change.
Large High-Resolution AMOLED Display
The new 0.5-inch AMOLED display has a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels and provides a large viewing area for assessing the thermal image. The high display resolution also supports the detailed image reproduction of the 640 sensor.
6 colour palettes are available for different situations. These include a green mode, which can be easier on the eyes during extended observation in the dark. Additional functions such as Picture-in-Picture and Hot-Track assist with observing and locating heat sources.
Fingertip Wheel Focusing for One-Handed Operation
A distinctive feature of the Cyclops series is its fingertip wheel focusing system. Instead of turning the objective lens directly, image focus is adjusted using the focusing wheel positioned on top of the device.
The wheel can be finely adjusted with one finger, allowing the thermal imager to remain in one hand while focusing. This is particularly convenient when stalking or observing for extended periods compared with conventional focusing directly on the objective lens.
Replaceable Battery System for up to 7 Hours of Runtime
Power is supplied by a replaceable 18650 Li-ion battery. When the battery is depleted, it can simply be replaced with a charged battery while out in the field.
Two 18650 batteries and a charger are already included. Depending on display brightness, ambient temperature and usage, ThermTec specifies an average runtime of approximately 5 to 7 hours with a fully charged battery.
64 GB Storage, Playback and App Connectivity
Photos and videos can be recorded directly with the Cyclops 635L 3.0 and saved to the 64 GB internal storage. Saved recordings can then be played back directly on the thermal imager.
The Wi-Fi hotspot function also allows the Cyclops to connect to a smartphone or tablet. The ThermTec app provides functions including remote control and live thermal image viewing on the connected mobile device.
