The Nocpix VISTA H50R is a thermal imaging device for hunting that tells you how far away the animal is while you scan. At its heart is a 640×512 sensor with 12 µm pixel pitch behind a bright 50 mm F0.9 objective lens. It adds a laser rangefinder (LRF) with a range of up to 1,200 m. This thermal monocular combines thermal night vision and rangefinding in one device. It works just as well for glassing wide open fields as for sitting in a high seat at the edge of the woods.
High-contrast thermal images in damp weather
The thermal sensor works with a sensitivity of NETD ≤ 15 mK. This pays off most when temperature differences are small, such as in drizzle, high humidity or after a warm day, when the ground and vegetation are still giving off heat. Outlines stay crisp, and game stands out clearly from the background. With a 60 Hz refresh rate, the image stays smooth when you follow moving game or pan quickly across a field.
The detection range reaches up to 2,600 m. Base optical magnification is 4×, and the digital zoom goes up to 40×. The field of view of 8.8° × 7.0° covers roughly 15 × 12 m at 100 m, enough to scan an area at your own pace. Then zoom in to take your time identifying the animal.
Rangefinder up to 1,200 m built into the lens
The key difference from the VISTA H50: on the H50R, the laser rangefinder is integrated into the objective. You measure the distance to the animal without reaching for a second device and without losing sight of the game. You can choose between single and continuous measurement. The laser is Class 1 according to EN 60825-1.
When hunting wild boar or predators in open fields, the exact distance is an important basis for deciding whether to take the shot. With the H50R, you have that information at the very moment you identify the animal.
Round AMOLED display for comfortable observation
The round 1.03-inch AMOLED display with 2560 × 2560 pixels delivers a very fine, high-contrast image. An 8 mm exit pupil and 25 mm eye relief let you see the full picture even when your eye is not perfectly centred behind the eyepiece. Spectacle wearers can adjust for their eyesight with the dioptre correction from −4 to +6 dpt.
You can choose from seven colour palettes, including monochrome red and green, which are easy on the eyes in the dark. Palettes you don't need can be hidden in the menu. Electronic image stabilisation can be switched on when needed.
Silent controls and a rugged housing
All controls on the VISTA H50R are silent, so there is no clicking for game to hear at close range. The rotating eyecup shields the display light from the sides, and the housing with its TPU leather-textured surface sits well in the hand, even in the cold. At 650 g including battery, the device stays pleasantly light on long stalks. Its IP67 rating protects it against dust and water, and it operates between −20 and +50 °C. An integrated lens cap protects the optics on the move.
The video shows how to set up and use the VISTA:
Photos, videos and live view in the app
With 64 GB of internal storage, you can record your observations as photos or videos. Via Wi-Fi, the H50R connects to the NOCPIX app. You can transfer recordings to your smartphone or stream the live image so a companion can watch along. On a computer, copy your files using the supplied data cable.
Two swappable batteries for long nights
Two interchangeable IBP-7 batteries with 4,400 mAh each are included. One battery lasts up to 5.5 hours; with both you get up to 11 hours of runtime. These figures were measured at 22 °C; Wi-Fi and video recording shorten the runtime somewhat. Swapping takes just a few seconds. Alternatively, charge the battery directly in the device via the USB-C port, or from a power bank when you're out in the field.
Who is the Nocpix VISTA H50R for?
The VISTA H50R is aimed at hunters who observe over longer distances in open and mixed terrain and want to judge ranges reliably. If you mainly hunt at short range in dense forest, a smaller objective lens will do. But if you scan meadows and field edges and want thermal imaging and rangefinding in a single device, the H50R is a good choice.

Frequently asked questions about the Nocpix VISTA H50R
What is the difference between the VISTA H50R and the VISTA H50?
+
Sensor, objective lens, display and battery are identical. The H50R also has a built-in laser rangefinder with a range of up to 1,200 m.
How far can I see with the VISTA H50R?
+
You can detect a heat source the size of a person (1.7 × 0.5 m) at up to 2,600 m. The distance for reliably identifying game is considerably shorter and depends on weather, species and background.
Is the VISTA H50R a night vision device?
+
It is a thermal imaging device. Unlike classic image-intensifier night vision, it needs no light at all. Instead, it makes the heat radiation of animals and their surroundings visible, so it works in complete darkness as well as during the day.
How long does the battery last?
+
One IBP-7 battery lasts up to 5.5 hours. With the two supplied batteries, you get up to 11 hours.
Can I use the VISTA H50R with glasses?
+
Yes. The dioptre correction ranges from −4 to +6 dpt, and the 25 mm eye relief is comfortable for spectacle wearers.
