Product Description
Hornady .264 ELD-X 143gr / 9.2g – Hunting Bullets with Match-Grade Precision for All Distances
The Hornady ELD-X® (Extremely Low Drag – eXpanding) bullet is one of the most advanced hunting bullets with match-grade precision, offering an optimal trajectory, low wind drift, and reliable, controlled expansion even at extended ranges.
Advantages at a Glance
- Best BC values in its class
- Match-grade accuracy
- Heat Shield® tip for aerodynamic stability
- Streamlined secant ogive with boattail
- Typically 50–60% retained weight at close range, 85–90% at long range
- InterLock® ring for maximum penetration
Reliable Performance at Any Distance
At close range (up to approx. 365 m), the expanding bullet with soft Heat Shield® tip ensures controlled mushrooming. The reinforced jacket and InterLock® ring securely retain core and jacket. In this range, the bullet retains around 50–60% of its weight, ensuring a high probability of an exit wound.
At longer ranges, when impact velocities drop below typical close-range values, the impact forces the Heat Shield tip deep into the core. Expansion is reliably initiated, and the bullet typically retains 85–90% of its weight, delivering the necessary penetration for medium to large game.
Engineered for Maximum Terminal Ballistics
The AMP® jacket with precisely controlled wall thickness and the InterLock® ring ensure the bullet maintains its structural integrity during expansion. This preserves mass and energy for maximum impact in the animal’s body.
